PROJECT: Scientist Yearbook Page

(60 points)



Directions: You will research a famous scientist and develop a yearbook page that represents your scientist. You will then present your information to the class.


Research Requirements (Summarized IN YOUR OWN WORDS in a typed, 1-2 page, double-spaced, 12 pt. font document):

  • Must find (at minimum) the following details about your scientist:
    • Country of origin
    • Time period in which they lived
    • Detailed description about what they did
    • 2+ interesting facts
    • Why is this scientist and his/her contributions relevant today?
  • Include an annotated bibliography with at least 3 reputable sources, developed using Noodletools!


Yearbook Page Requirements:

  • Develop using Microsoft Publisher

o   Top half of the page should be the “formal” senior page.

·        Includes “formal” senior picture

·        Includes all information included in the Research Requirements, in a readable list

·        Includes scientist’s “Superlative” award - be creative and relevant

§ Examples: “Best hair,” “Most likely to be on American Idol”

o   Bottom half of the page should be the “fun” picture collage

·        Includes at least 4 pictures relevant to the scientist. At least 2 pictures cannot be of the scientist

·        Save in the w:drive, D Wing, Fayewicz, (your block), Scientist Yearbook folder as “yourlastname_scientist”


Presentation Requirements

·         ~2 minutes long

·         Share your finished yearbook page and briefly tell the class about your scientist
